I am a recent graduate of The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, recently relocated to NYC and looking for work.
At this point, I'm assuming I'll have to start out as a PA somewhere and work my way up. Is that the general consensus?
Is anyone looking for an intern or PA or in need of assistance on a project? Or know of a company looking for assistance?
I am incredibly hard working and really enjoy fast-paced environments as I like to be busy and stimulated. My school didn't provide students with anything in regards to job placement so I'm on my own, but thought tribe may be helpful.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated as well!
Thanks!
Melody

Re: Filmmaker in Search of Employment
Fri, June 12, 2009 - 8:21 AMCheck out CreativeCow.net. You can upload your demo reel, and they have a job listing forum for high paying and low paying jobs. This would be a great question to ask over there - lots of industry professionals, especially in the New York area.
My experience is that you'll have to start out as an unpaid intern, I don't have a degree so your mileage may vary.
